My bills, stacks, misc piles, and some stickers

February 3rd, 2011 at 09:15 pm

I am on a mission... This is my first blog and my first step in getting to the truth about my debt. Right now my desk has bills, stacks, and misc piles of magazines, newspapers, random receipts, and kids stickers. I can't take it anymore and decided to tackle the many problem piles that I have (AKA the many problems that I'm dealing with)I have to tackle what I will call the "Truth Piles."
It's going to be scary facing the phone bill that reads Due:$366 or the past due water, electric, and many other past due bills.sigggggggggggggh. However, the burden has become much greater than the pain of facing these sharp, square, pieces of paper that tell me I'm a delinquent. Here I go... I'll list all my past due bill numbers later, but it will take a while. I'll have to give myself a sticker as a reward in the end. Perhaps if it works for my kids potty training it will work for meSmile

You are not "a delinquent" hon, you are just in a less than desirable financial situation. I am glad you are blogging because one day at a time you will dig out and get back on track. It is scary to face those bills, but you have take the first very important step. If you have a problem with overspending or using charge cards too much you might check out the Debtor's Anonymous program (DA). I am in it to help with my compusive overspending issues and it works. Their website is www.debtorsanonymous.org and they have MANY phone meetings you can call in on. I love the program and would welcome you joining us if your situation seems to fit. Bless you. You are not alone. I totally understand your situation and I truly aplaud you for facing it.

@ Savings Queen, Thank you so much for your encouragement and the link. I had no idea that phone meetings were available. Also, you seem to be on a great track too, I hope to keep in touch throughout this process. "The days are long, but the years go by fast." I was told this quote from a grandmother and hopefully things will be wonderfully different in a few years (as a mom and with my debt).

Welcome to the group! And the first step is sitting down and really figuring out what your situation is. The fact that you are doing that is awesome!
