clearing clutter makes room for opportunity

February 23rd, 2011 at 03:26 am

I donated the bag of clothes today and cleared emails, clutter, along with removing myself from various forms of stress/people. After doing this, other amazing people and opportunities just showed up/appeared. The last few weeks has really motivated me to change and see the change. It's really wonderful and this site has literally changed my life (I know sounds a little cheesy, but really/reading peoples blogs and also blogging has changed things more than on just finances). However, I did go to trader joes to buy kiddos milk and snacks since I ran out and was in the car. $10.75. They also gave my kiddos stickers, which prevented some major child meltdowns.

It is inspiring. I think that's why we all stick around for so long!

I believe you when you say it's life-changing. Just "being around" a group of people who are so focused on keeping their finances on track and getting out of debt is extremely motivating. It's the whole, "I'm not doing it alone," thing.

I have been doing the same purging as you, with household items and so-called "friends"; and your right, awesome opportunities keep opening up.

I too had a major lifestyle change when I started blogging on this website. I think it is the unconditional support that most appeals to me. Plus I can throw ideas out there and get other people's ideas. It has really helped me become more conscience of the financial decisions I have made.

It sounds like you are doing a fantastic job in working toward your goals. Congratulations! I do think the influence, acceptance, and experience of the people on this site can definitely create change in a person -- it's not cheesy at all. :-)
